Star Jones meets with Janelle Chaplin

A celebrity extravaganza, New York Fashion Week’s front row heaves with Hollywood starlets, pop stars and reality television queens. Some of those celebs attending last month’s NYFW swung by Original & Mineral’s exclusive style booth set up at the Empire Hotel for a hair makeover between shows. O&M’s creative director Janelle Chaplin, assisted by the talented Kirsty from Stevie English, styled hair in the booth to introduce New York’s fashion clique to Original & Mineral. Stars of the Real Housewives of New York City including Luann de Lesseps and Jill Zarin, plus Star Jones stopped off at the booth to get their tresses lavished by Janelle and Kirsty.

Original & Mineral is collaborating with Australian Hairdresser’s Journal on its star-spangled Australia-wide TAFE Tour Ignite the Passion. Showcasing on trend hair styling, cutting and colouring techniques from Australia’s top stylists, the tour is making its way around the nation. Original & Mineral’s national sales manager Rob Forgione visited the tour’s event at Casulla on August 22 for Liverpool TAFE where he coloured the models hair together with the expert hands of Katie Buckley, a stylist from Smarty’s The Hair Shop in Mosman. Using the latest Liquid CCT colours, Rob said the warm and solid shades complemented the “very Vidal Sassoon inspired shapes” perfected by Frankie Endersbee from Joey Scandizzo on stage.

I have been doing the Lovely Fosters Hair for a while now, and it just so happens we are both rocking the streets of NYC these days!  Amongst the Brunches and Disco’s we threw in some HAIR PAINTING.

Foster is on the Journey to go Lighter right at the time we are Launching our new O&M PEARL Ammonia Free Powder Lightener. “PERFECT TIMING” to go lighter in my books. I am so thrilled with the new O&M PEARL Ammonia free Powder I cannot even begin to tell you, it’s pure Genius. 1.It has NO ammonia 2.The control over the lift is Great. 3. It contains Montmorillonite to ensure protection whilst lightning.

Knowing all this I intend to make Foster be mistaken for “Blondie” before the week is out. Kidding.

I used a Technique called hair Painting, where I free hand paint the O&M Pearl on to the hair using a very soft basting brush[yes one from your mums Kitchen], this will help the colour appear to have no start or finish.

I also recently did a beauty shoot where we added a hint of colour for a modern 50’s housewife vibe. We set the hair using the new Cloud 9 Wand.
